When I was six years old, in Lindeneau School, I had the most amazing first grade teacher. With her, I thought all things were possible and fell in love with learning. Everyday, I strive to make that same impact on the children in my class. After graduating from the Edison School District, I went on to study education at Seton Hall University. Then in 2000, I received my Masters in Education and in 2001, my Reading Specialist Certification from Rutgers University.
I have been a teacher in Edison Township since 1998. Over the years, I have worked as a second and fourth grade teacher (James Madison Schools) and was a literacy development teacher working with Scholastic's Read 180 program (Martin Luther King School). I was recognized as Martin Luther King's Teacher of the Year in 2008 and received Scholastic's National Outstanding Teacher award in 2011. Currently, I am working with second graders at Washington School. I am very fortunate to work with outstanding teachers and hard working students.
In my free time, I love to spend outdoor time with my two little boys. We play basketball, soccer and ride bikes around our neighborhood. I love to read and am trying to enhance my knowledge and use of technology.
